Cultr Kitchen
About this Program
CULTR Kitchen is an interdisciplinary health education program with practical skills-building components. It is designed to be fun and engaging and to help individuals build their confidence in food selection and preparation. The program is led by a Registered Dietitian from SCHC’s Inter-professional Primary Care Team and a Health Promotion Specialist. It applies scientifically evidenced practices and guidelines in prevention education for common health issues such as cardiovascular disease, depression, diabetes and more. The program is also guided by community perspectives and culinary interests and accounts for the realities of eating healthy in the current economy. A variety of dishes spanning several cultures and regions are demonstrated biweekly. Without compromising diversity in cuisine, this program provides both new and familiar recipes that help individuals stay healthy and within budget.
